These volunteers serve in a variety of ways, from fighting fires and responding to medical emergencies to assisting during natural disasters and conducting fire prevention education. Volunteering with a fire or EMS department is an impactful and rewarding way to give back to the community and make a difference.

At Hamlin Fire & Rescue, we’re always looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in their community. Our department offers a variety of volunteer roles suited to different interests, skills, and levels of experience.

Whether you’re looking to be on the front lines or help behind the scenes, there’s a place for you on our team.

Volunteer Roles Include:

• Interior Firefighters – Trained to enter burning structures and perform hands-on fire suppression.

• Exterior Firefighters – Support firefighting operations from outside the structure and assist with scene safety.

• Drivers – Operate and maintain our fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.

• EMTs – Provide life-saving medical care during emergencies.

• Support Personnel – Assist with fundraising, community outreach, event coordination, and logistical support.

No experience? No problem! We provide all the necessary training and certifications to help you succeed.
